After you click the item designer you'll see this page
Load and Load Submitted, let you continue or edit items you've already started. Since we don't have any yet click New.
This will pop up this menu, lit items are bases you can currently choose from. Dimmed items are bases that are available but you haven't purchased yet. Choose an item base to use.
This is your workspace. The top left has the colors you've used in your design, this way you don't have to repeatedly re-find a color. Besides this quick palette you can also use the eye drop tool to re-grab a color. To the right is your current color. By clicking that, you can pick a new color.
The Pencil Tool will allow you to use the current color to draw on the base. The program will not allow you to draw outside the base, so you don't need to be too careful. Using the slider below the current color you can zoom in. If you want to zoom on a particular spot you can click the magnifying glass above the slider and then click on your canvas to zoom just the clicked spot.
When Zoomed in, you can see what your design looks like at normal size by looking at the preview on the right.
Below your Preview, there are the items layers. You can toggle open the layer editing options by clicking the Pencil, you can hide a layer by clicking the eye.
If you use the drop down menu's you can change the color of the shading on the item. The colors available are the same colors you find when recoloring items in your inventory. While the tanktop in this example has 1 layer, items like pants will have more layers, so your design must be done in sections.
Whatever design you make, it must be made for all 3 bases. It must be the same design on all 3 bases. So to swap to the next base click one of the base icons below the preview.
To make things easier, there is a clone tool to the right of the 3 base icons. This will copy your design you made on the previous base onto the current base. Since I started with the Female base after clicking the clone button, I click the female button and then submit and it will place the design I made on the female base onto the male base I currently have open.
Now the bases are not the same size. So the design will not line up perfectly. Use the move tool to move the cloned design into the right spot, then you only need to do little touch ups here and there to make it look nice instead without having to start from scratch for each base.
So once all 3 match its a good idea to save your creation. This is so if, for any reason, your design is rejected you can pop it back up and make any changes that might be needed.
Once you've saved, you can submit the item. If you try to submit before saving your item, you'll get this message:
So click save and give your creation a name. THIS IS NOT SAVED ON SOLIA.
This saves your project TO YOUR BROWSER. So if you clear your cashe you will lose this save. Once your Item is approved, you no longer need the save data and can clear it on your browser if you want.
Once approved, you'll get an alert and then you can start wearing, creating or selling your design via the methods outlined earlier in this thread.
